February 2021

Morning sun and snow on the garage

A couple days later...the roof caved in and the sides fell out!  Not very surprising, but still amazing.....Called the insurance company.  We'll see what's next.

Indoors, the orchids are happy. This lovely slipper orchid has been  in the family for at least 15 years. I've decided to make myself like and learn about orchids, even though they're weird, stiff, and can be expensive.

These moth orchids are new from the grocery store.

February

Morning moon setting in the west on February 12.

Later that day there was snow. I went out with the camera and a cup of tea and found this handsome guy waiting on the neighbor's back porch.

Maybe there'll be more snow this evening.

 Patience.

November

Snow began to fall on Halloween morning.

The leaves have started falling , creating a lovely carpet under the serviceberry. (Never mind the bits of trash....:)

In just one day the world seems to change!

April 18

April is the change-iest month! This is how things looked last Sunday.

Cold woad plant

Poor daffodils

Chilly scilla

T    Today the serviceberry is about to bloom.

And the daffodils are fine!

Still cold

It's still cold here without the occasional warm days. In spite of this, the brave daffodils, tulips, scilla are holding on. Some are even blooming.

Scilla

For the first time in ages, I'm growing sweet peas. Thought they are prefer cool temperatures, I don't think they'd like to be outdoors in 20 degrees and ice.

Ice and snow

A little snow and ice fell overnight.

Yesterday I made a path through the mud with old Christmas tree branches. The birds are making their own path of footprints.

Walnut brew left outdoors

Indigo dye project left out overnight

Sweet, furry Daisy seems to like the cool on her tummy.

First snowflakes

The first snowflakes arrived this morning. The Japanese indigo is finished growing.
