Silk Embroidery Thread Natural Dyes on 12 Vintage Wooden Spools Yellow Orange Red Pink Plant Dyed Colors Madder Marigold Dyes 10 Yards Each

$26.00

This listing is for a set of 12 small vintage wooden spools wound with naturally dyed silk embroidery thread.
This silk thread is non-divisible.
The amount of naturally dyed silk thread on each spool measures approximately 10 yards.

The colors of silk thread in this collection include shades of
Red and pink dyed with cochineal and madder roots,
Yellow and orange dyed with coreopsis flowers and madder roots

These threads were hand dyed and wound by me onto each vintage wooden spool.
The winding is not "machine-uniform"
Since these wooden spools have been previously used, they may have nicks, dents, and missing or damaged labels.
I've done my best to show the true natural shades of these silk threads.
Please remember that each computer monitor displays color in its' own way.

These naturally dyed silk threads are perfect any textile art project that could use a touch of lovely, natural color.

***I recommend hand washing in cool water with mild soap or shampoo and line drying in the shade to preserve the delicate luster and color of the silk.
***Please be aware that although these silk threads have been washed and rinsed numerous times, they still may contain a little residual pigment.
***This is especially true of the darker shades.
***A gentle wash with mild soap and a cap-full of white vinegar added to the final rinse should help prevent color transfer
